The Lumia 530 comes with a decent 5MP camera, capable of capturing images at a resolution of 2592 x 1936 pixels. It doesn’t have a secondary camera. Removing the SIM and Memory Card

If you have a new SIM or memory card, here’s how to remove the old one from your phone:

1. Turn off your phone.
2. At the top of the phone, use your fingernails to find the gap between the screen frame and the back cover. Don’t use any sharp tools as they might damage the phone. Put your thumb in the middle of the back cover, bend it open, and take it off.

Transferring Content to Your Nokia Lumia

Copying Contacts

You can use the Transfer my Data app to easily copy your contacts, text messages, and pictures from your old phone. This app might not work with all phone models. If you have an older Windows Phone device, or have previously backed up your contacts in your Microsoft Account, you can also add your account to your phone, and import the contacts to your phone straight from the service. Here’s how:

1. On your old phone, turn on Bluetooth and make sure the phone is visible to other devices.
2. On the start screen of your new phone, swipe left, and tap Transfer my Data.
3. Tap continue, and turn on Bluetooth.
4. Choose your old phone from the list of found devices, and follow the instructions shown on both phones.

Transferring Content Using Your Microsoft Account

If your old phone is a Windows Phone, the easiest way to transfer your contacts, calendar, and text messages to your new Nokia Lumia is your Microsoft account. If you don’t have a Microsoft account set up on your new Nokia Lumia yet, here’s how:

1. On the start screen, swipe down from the top of the screen, tap ALL SETTINGS > email+accounts > add an account, and create a Microsoft account following the instructions shown on the screen.
2. To choose what you want to back up to your Microsoft account, on your previous Windows Phone device, on the start screen, swipe left, and tap Settings > backup. Your contacts and calendar are automatically backed up to your Microsoft account.
3. On your new Nokia Lumia, sign in to your Microsoft account. Your contacts, calendar, and text messages are automatically transferred to your new Nokia Lumia.

Saving on Data Roaming Costs

Data roaming means using your phone to receive data over networks that your network service provider doesn’t own or operate. This can be expensive, especially when abroad. To save on costs, you can change your Wi-Fi, mobile data, and mail download settings. If both Wi-Fi and mobile data connections are available, your phone uses the Wi-Fi connection. Here’s how:

1. Swipe down from the top of the screen and tap.
2. Make sure Wi-Fi networking is switched to On.
3. Select the connection you want to use.

To close a mobile data connection, go to ALL SETTINGS > cellular+SIM, and switch Data connection to off. You can also track your data usage with the data sense app.

To stop data roaming, go to ALL SETTINGS > cellular+SIM, and switch Data roaming options to don’t roam.

To download mail less frequently, go to settings > sync settings in each mailbox, and select how often to sync.

Using the Clock and Calendar

You can use your phone as a clock, an alarm clock, and to keep your appointments, tasks, and schedules up to date.

To set an alarm:

1. Swipe left on the start screen, and tap Alarms.
2. Tap Plus .
3. Set the time, fill in the alarm details, and tap.

To turn an alarm off, switch the alarm to Off. Likewise to delete an alarm, tap the alarm and. To snooze an alarm, tap snooze when the alarm sounds.

Silencing an Incoming Call

If you don’t want to be disturbed when your phone rings, you can silence the ringtone for that call. If you want to silence your phone by turning it face down, the Flip to silence feature must be switched on. Here’s how:

1. Swipe down from the top of the screen, tap ALL SETTINGS > audio, swipe left, if needed, and switch Flip to silence to On.
2. When someone calls you, press the volume key or the lock key. You can also turn your phone face down.

Making a Conference Call

Your phone can make conference calls with two or more people. The maximum number of participants depends on your network service provider.

1. Call the first person.
2. To call another person, press  , and make the call as usual.
3. When the new call is answered, tap .

Adding Another Person to the Call

Tap , call another person, and tap .

Having a Private Conversation with Someone Tap and the person’s name or phone number. The conference call is put on hold on your phone. The other people continue the conference call. To return to the conference call, tap .

Forwarding Calls to Another Phone

If you can’t always answer the phone but don’t want to miss any incoming calls, you can forward them to another phone number. For this feature’s availability, contact your network service provider.

1. Depending on your phone, swipe down from the top of the screen on the start screen, and tap ALL SETTINGS > network+ > set, or tap > > settings.
2. Switch Call forwarding to On, if needed, and select where you want to forward your calls.

Forwarding Calls to Your Voicemail

You can also forward calls to your voicemail and listen to them later. For this feature’s availability, contact your network service provider.

1. Tap > > settings.
2. Type in your default voicemail number in the Voicemail number box.

Using Call Waiting

If you get another call while you’re already in one, call waiting helps you answer or hold one of the calls.

1. On the start screen, swipe down from the top of the screen, and tap ALL SETTINGS > network+ > set.
2. Switch Call waiting to On.
