Pinning a Website In case you want to pin a website, navigate to the website and tap on ‘pin to start’.
Moving a Tile Lastly, if you want to move a tile, tap and hold the tile, drag and drop it to the new location, and tap the screen. This way, you can customize your start screen according to your preferences.

Adding New Ringtones from Your PC If you want to add new ringtones from your PC to your phone, connect your phone to your PC using a USB cable. Use the file manager of your PC to move the song you want to the ringtone folder in your phone. To set the song as your ringtone, in the ‘ringtones+sounds’ view, tap ‘Ringtone’, and under ‘Custom’, tap the song. Please note, you can use a song as your ringtone if it is not protected with digital rights management (DRM), and it’s smaller than 30 MB.
Creating Unique Ringtones As a tip, if you want to create your own unique ringtone, tap ‘Store’, and download the ‘Ringtone Maker’ app. This way, you can have a personalized ringtone that matches your style.
Save on data roaming costs
Looking to reduce your phone bills? You can decrease data roaming costs by modifying your mobile data settings. Data roaming refers to using your phone to receive data over networks that aren’t owned or operated by your network service provider. Connecting to the internet while roaming, particularly when abroad, can significantly increase data costs. Your network service provider may charge you a fixed fee for data transfer or on a pay-as-you-use basis. To use the most efficient connection method, you can change the Wi-Fi, mobile data, and mail download settings.
Using a Wi-Fi Connection Generally, using a Wi-Fi connection is faster and less expensive than using a mobile data connection. If both Wi-Fi and mobile data connections are available, your phone will use the Wi-Fi connection. To set this up, swipe left on the start screen, and tap ‘Settings’. Then:
- Tap ‘WiFi’.
- Ensure ‘WiFi networking’ is switched to ‘On’.
- Select the connection you want to use.
Closing a Mobile Data Connection To close a mobile data connection, tap ‘mobile network’, and switch ‘Data connection’ to ‘off’.
Stopping Data Roaming To stop data roaming, tap ‘mobile network’, and switch ‘Data roaming options’ to ‘don’t roam’.
Tip: To save on data costs when travelling, download new maps to your phone before your journey, and browse the maps offline. If you’re running low on space, you can remove some maps from your phone. This way, you can keep your phone at your service while also saving on your phone bills.
Adding Languages
To turn off word suggestions, begin at the start screen and swipe left. Then, navigate to Settings > keyboard. Select your language keyboard and uncheck the Suggest text box.
If you’re interested in adding writing languages, there’s a process for that as well. This allows you to have multiple writing languages on your keyboard and switch between them as needed.
Firstly, go to Settings > keyboard > add keyboards. Secondly, choose the languages you want to write in. A handy tip: if you want to remove a pre-installed keyboard, simply tap and hold the language you don’t want to use, and select remove.
Lastly, if you want to switch between the languages while writing, tap the language key repeatedly until the language you want is shown. The keyboard layout and word suggestions will change according to the language selected. Please note, the language key is only shown when more than one writing language has been selected.
Call Settings
If you want to redial the last number you called, you can do so from the call history view, which displays information about the calls you’ve made and received. Here’s how:
- On the start screen, tap the call icon.
- Next to the name or phone number, tap the call icon.
Conference Call
If you’re interested in making a conference call, your phone supports this feature for two or more people. The maximum number of participants can vary, depending on your network service provider. Here are the steps:
- Make a call to the first person.
- To call another person, press the add call button, and make the call as usual.
- Once the new call is answered, tap the merge calls button.
To add another person to the call, tap the add call button, call the other person, and then tap the merge calls button. If you want to have a private conversation with someone, tap the split call button and the person’s name or phone number. Call Forwarding
If you can’t always answer the phone but don’t want to miss any incoming calls, you can forward them to another phone number. Here’s how:
- Tap the settings icon > call settings, or tap Settings > network+, depending on your software version.
- Switch Call forwarding to On.
- Enter the phone number in the Forward calls to box, and tap save.
Tip: To check if call forwarding is being used, tap the top of the screen.
In addition to forwarding calls to another phone number, you can also forward these calls to your voicemail and listen to them later. You may need to contact your service provider to get this service. Here’s how:
- Tap the settings icon > call settings, or tap Settings > network+, depending on your software version.
- On first use, enter your default voicemail number in the Voicemail number box. Contact your service provider to get the default voicemail number.
- If necessary, switch Use default voicemail number to On.
- Switch Call forwarding to On, and enter your voicemail number in the Forward calls to box.
Edit Voicemail Number
To edit your voicemail number, tap the settings icon > call settings, switch Use default voicemail number to Off, and edit your voicemail number. Use the same voicemail number in the Forward calls to box.
If you get another call while you’re already in one, call waiting helps you answer or hold one of the calls. Tap Settings > network+, and switch Call waiting to On. Here’s how:
- To hold the first call and answer the new call, tap ANSWER.
- To end the first call and answer the new one, tap end call+answer.
- To ignore the new call, tap ignore.

Reply to Voice with Text Message
If you can’t answer a call in voice, you can reply to the caller by a text message. Here’s how:
- When someone calls you, tap TEXT REPLY.
- Tap type a message…, and write your message. You can only reply by a text message to calls from the contacts saved in your phone.
To switch text reply on or off, tap the settings icon > call settings, and switch Text reply to On or Off.
To edit a pre-written text message, on the start screen, tap the settings icon > call settings > edit replies, and edit the reply you want.
Forward Incoming Calls

- You can listen or reply to voicemail messages, delete them, or record a greeting message.

Save Number from an unknown Caller
If you’ve received a call from a person whose phone number isn’t saved in your People hub, you can easily save the number in a new or existing contact list entry. Here’s how:
- Tap the call icon.
- In the call history list, tap a phone number and the add contact icon.
- Tap the edit icon, adjust the phone number and phone number type, and tap the save icon.
- Edit other contact details, including the name, and tap the save icon.
